Our Story

Crafting By The Pound is a stationery business operating out of Atlanta, GA. We offers a range of products, from original art prints, stickers, coloring pages and books.

Established April 1, 2017: Crafting By The Pound was officially created on April's Fool Day 2017, as Leona obtained her Bachelor's Degree. At the start of Crafting By The Pound, she was unemployed and seeking purpose. It was an act of courage to start Crafting By The Pound because she didn't see endeavors like this succeed in her family. She knew if she succeeded, Crafting By The Pound would not only change my life but the lives of her family. She wasn't the creative one in her family, but God must've planted a creative seed in her because here she is.

In September 2018, she found herself battling the symptoms of her mental illness in a way that required serious intervention. In a last-ditch effort, she was able to finish her schooling by the skin of her teeth, but her passion died a slow death for about a year; she stopped creating. It felt like everything was taken from her that meant something. Only through the urgings from her support system was she then able to reclaim her passion. Little by little, courageous act by courageous act she was able to slowly gain her passion back. It started off with one drawing here and there and before she knew it she was creating all the time and her passion became one of the reasons why she woke up every morning.

Now it's 2024...

Re-opening her shop, curating a portfolio, streaming on Twitch, and becoming consistent on YouTube Leona has made great strides in fully immersing herself back into her art. She's since graduated with her Master's degree, traveled, and gained more well-earned gray hairs (lol). She strives to improve her art each time she touches her favorite mediums, learning this online marketing thing, and continuing to be her own champion.
